Shrikes are more often known as butchers than vegetarians, so it came a surprise when I watched a vagrant adult male Turkestan Shrike at Bempton RSPB, Yorkshire, eating blackberries. The bird had first been seen on 27th June 2022 and remained in the wider area until 27th August.
